Hi. I’m Numa (she/her).

I’m the Head of Machine Learning at iVerify. I also support the broader AI community as an All Tech is Human Affiliate, a Lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin, and co-writer of No Failsafe, a newsletter on AI safety and security.

Recent News: 

• The second edition of my book, Introduction to Generative AI, is now available for pre-order on manning.com.

• In 2024, I developed and taught an AI certificate course at Georgetown University.

• I contributed to the Privacy chapter for TSPA’s Curriculum, which was published in September 2024.

• In July-August 2024, I participated in the Oxford Media Policy Summer Institute: Technology, Policy, and Democracy in Flux.

• My book, Introduction to Generative AI, was published in January 2024.

• In Fall 2023, I was a Trust & Safety mentor for All Tech is Human’s 2023 mentorship program.

• In June 2023, I was invited as an inaugural fellow for the Governance in Online Speech Leadership Series at Yale Law School’s Information Society Project.
